Celtics Overkill: Three Superstars, so is it a Surprise?

I'm neither a Lakers nor a Celtics fanatic, but watching these teams slug it out in the Finals is better than watching the Pistons and San Antonio. Not that the latter are not good players, but they lack a certain star quality that emanates from Pierce, Allen, and Garnet. Heck, they can be comedy sitcom celebrities.

I'm wrong? So sue me.

Anyway, the last championship blowout, with an emphatic 4-1 victory over the Lakers, may have finally given humble pie to Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant. Phil is a great coach and I admire him for his exploits with his Airness, Michael Jordan of Bulls' fame and it's like a swan song for him to end this way, if he'll retire after this championship. But Kobe's antics before are unforgettable, especially after his split with Shaq. I mean, why did he have to piss off the Big Guy when both of them won the championship, if he's not so swell-headed? He thought he's the center of the team, well, that's poooofffff now.

Now, Garnett coming Minnesota, Allen from Seattle, while Pierce could not get his ring by his lonesome, so, go figure. Celtics owner is one damn genius! Nobody had stood the chance, or did they?

Pundits will tell me hey, what about Karl Malone joining Kobe and Shaq before, a stellar trio no less, well, Kobe can star in Days of Our Lives, so why didn't they win? Karl Malone could not clinch it, despite Kobe's fresh legs and Shaq's recuperation from surgery so, it's just not in the cards. So, it does not follow that putting big name players together is a sure win. Okay.

Well, I bet my ex-girlfriend's lingerie that Celtics will show up at the next year championships. Unless, the three will make good the rumors that they'll retire. Maybe Celtics fans should flood them with fan mail so that they will stay on the team.
